5. Storage and solar self-consumption
Solar self-consumption: solar self-consumption is when a consumer produces solar energy on his or her own behalf at the site where the energy is consumed, and when the solar energy produced does not pass through the public grid. The aim is to produce solar energy locally at a lower cost than the energy drawn from the public grid.
Solar self-consumption is already well established in Germany, with over 35,000 residential installations with storage. Sonnen offers consumers a battery that enables them to continue to benefit from a power supply when the grid fails, and to adapt their consumption to the production of their solar generator.
