Overview
ABSTRACT
In this article we describe the different types of stationary electricity storage associated with solar or wind intermittent renewable energies: in batteries for isolated sites, for electric vehicles or for solar self-consumption, but also in pumped energy transfer stations. The prospects for technological development and the requirements for designing and installing large lithium-ion storage devices are given special attention.

INTRODUCTION
In a context of very strong development of stationary electricity storage, mainly linked to the development of intermittent renewable energies, a stationary storage system is associated with renewable electricity production.
With the development of the electric vehicle, the price of lithium-ion batteries was divided by 2 between 2014 and 2016. This enabled global installed stationary electricity storage capacity to exceed 1 GW in 2016. Most new storage capacity is being installed in northern countries, largely to support the development of renewable energies.
