2. Impact of wood combustion on local pollution

Local air quality monitoring, such as tracking concentrations of regulated pollutants in ambient air (SO x , NO x , PM10...), does not allow us to trace the source of pollution(s). Consequently, to determine the origin of a pollution source, or simply to assess the relative impact of a source on ambient air quality, two approaches are possible:

  • the use of tracers ;

  • modeling.

The current state of knowledge in these two poorly explored areas is the subject of this section 2
