5. EN 378-4: operation, maintenance, repair and recovery

EN 378-4 defines the requirements for the management of refrigeration systems and heat pumps once they are in service. This section focuses on good practice for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of systems throughout their life cycle, as well as measures to be followed during maintenance, repair and refrigerant recovery operations.

The main aim of this section is to ensure that refrigeration systems :

• are operated safely and efficiently;

• are properly maintained to minimize the risk of accidents and malfunctions;

• are safely repaired in the event of a breakdown;
