7.1 Don't regard EN 378 as a voluntary standard
In fact, this standard is mandatory!
A standard such as EN 378 is a document drawn up by consensus, providing precise specifications, guidelines, characteristics or criteria to ensure that products, services or processes meet defined quality, safety and performance requirements. Standards are drawn up by standardization bodies and are intended for voluntary use.
In the case of EN 378, however, its application can be considered mandatory. In fact, it is included in several regulations, including the European F-Gas regulation.
