5.1 Green" hydrogen energy in the energy transition

Green hydrogen energy, still in its infancy in quantitative terms, is of potentially major importance to the energy transition. A radical change is taking place, not yet in terms of installed capacity in this field, which remains very modest to date, but with numerous plans for political, institutional and private support, committed in 2020. After twenty years of intensive work on transition scenarios, we all agree that this "green hydrogen energy", i.e. produced from renewable energies, will play an indispensable role in the success of the energy transition
