3. How do you assess the profitability of an anaerobic digestion project?

To assess the profitability of a waste methanization project, excluding WWTPs and landfills, it would be necessary to carry out :

  • a technical study to define the quantity of biogas produced from the waste, the type of digester used and the associated equipment (piping, etc.), the installation site, the civil engineering works, the electrical works, the gas and water piping works, and so on;

  • the economic study, consisting of costing the purchase, delivery and installation of the equipment, the electrical, water, external works and civil engineering work, commissioning and certification of the installation;

  • a financial study to define the return on investment, the rate of return and the net present value of the project, based on the site's operating and maintenance costs and...
