8. Outlook and developments

This article provides answers to the difficult question of the intermittency of renewable energies and their integration into the future mix. Based on an examination of the performance of intermittent renewable energies compared between Germany and France, the article provides some answers with :

  • a method for comparing the performance of renewable energies with the load that needs to be met. The comparison made over a few short years (2010 to 2013) showed good stability in the results. This method could be applied to future electricity production data as other renewable energies come on stream. Marine energies come to mind, with offshore wind and tidal turbines;

  • results for both countries, which can be combined in a typical configuration obtained by normalizing installed or generated power by the average value...
