What place does "renewable, predictable, hazard-free" tidal energy have in competition with other energy sources? What contribution can the Chausey Islands project make to the 420 TWh/year (1 TWh = one thousand million kWh) currently generated by nuclear power in France?

There are two aspects to consider: the economic aspects and the ecological and environmental aspects.

From an economic point of view, tidal power plants are less susceptible to terrorist action and do not present a significant danger in the event of war. Tidal power plants are essentially large-scale boiler plants.
