12. Remote monitoring and management

Today, all industrial refrigeration plants use remote monitoring and control systems, which are more flexible and more efficient, thanks to the use of microelectronics and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). The great advantage of this type of control is that a PLC manages the operation of the equipment, and can take into account multiple parameters, such as electricity tariffs, and provide a wide range of information on the operating conditions of the machinery and cold rooms.

The development of automation, remote monitoring and remote management has meant that machine room mechanics have been considerably reduced or even eliminated, even in very large industrial warehouses.
