4. Hydrogenation reactors
For cyclic hydrogen storage processes in LOHCs, the hydrogen flow rates to be stored can vary from one installation to another, over a wide range (from supplying a service station or a hamlet, to national strategic energy stocks). The characteristics and dimensions of hydrogenation reactors therefore depend, on the one hand, on this range of hydrogen flow rates and, on the other, on the physico-chemical properties of the LOHCs chosen.
As the process of cyclic hydrogen storage in LOHCs is still under development or at the demonstrator scale, it is not possible to describe here the reactors currently in operation. However, to make the right choice, we can refer to
