membrane; membrane

Permselective material, i.e. able to modulate the flow rates of different compounds, based on different molecular mechanisms, when a driving force is applied.

permeability

Normalized speed of passage of a compound through a given material in terms of surface area, thickness and driving force.

permeance; permeance

Characteristic of a membrane material enabling quantification of the flux of a species based on the driving force.

sampling rate; stage cut

Characteristic of a module's operating mode, expressing the ratio between the total flow rate through the membrane and the total flow rate at the inlet.
