8. Industrial applications
The use of the gas permeation process for industrial applications has been growing steadily for over 50 years. In market terms, five major applications, summarized in Table 5 , account for the bulk of uses, with very different sizes and numbers of installations. The very limited number of membrane materials used, already mentioned, has been confirmed.
