11. A few safety tips
The use of pressure swing adsorption units in an industrial environment must be designed taking into account the various aspects involved (pressure and/or vacuum equipment, surrounding atmosphere, risk of leakage of surrounding gases, tightness of installed equipment, type of electrical equipment, conditions of access to the unit, appropriate personal equipment, etc.), as well as the risks that may arise.
So, for example, where combustible gases are processed and/or where there is an identified risk of emissions of combustible gases into the atmosphere, the instrumentation is chosen ATEX (Atmosphères Explosives) to avoid any risk of sparking, and systems for detecting hot spots (infrared cameras) and/or flammable (or even toxic) gases can be placed in the vicinity of the unit.
