2. Production methods
Hydrogen can be produced from a variety of primary energy resources, including fossil fuels such as natural gas, coal and nuclear power, which produce "grey" hydrogen, and renewable energy sources such as biomass, wind, solar, geothermal and hydroelectric power, which produce "green" hydrogen. Energy costs and environmental impact depend on how hydrogen is produced.
