7. Specific installation procedures on backing plates

Roofing systems combining slabs and canal tiles supported by these slabs do not fall within the traditional domain and are therefore not covered by DTU 40.22 [1] .

Channel tile support plates are defined – and their installation is specified – in the Avis Techniques specific to each process. The processes can be divided into two families:

• fibre-cement slabs to support canal tiles [8] ;

• fibre-reinforced bitumen slabs for support of canal tiles [9] .
