3.1 Installation on continuous supports

In most cases, clay roof tiles with running tiles that do not have tenon(s) on the underside for laying on battens are laid on a continuous support.

Generally, the continuous support is made of solid wood, but – particularly in certain regions – this continuous support can also be made of a masonry floor or traditional ceramic elements.

The continuous support can also be made of wood-based panels:

  • plywood panels (NF exterior CTB-X) ;

  • particleboard (NF-CTB-H) ;

  • or specially shaped ceramic elements for lateral wedging of running tiles.
