4. Lifting station

4.1 Principle

A lift station is sometimes necessary for:

  • bring wastewater to the top of an infiltration mound;

  • supply a vertical drained sand filter so that the treated water can be discharged into an outlet (in the event of a slight difference in level between the wastewater outlet of the dwelling and the outlet);

  • supply other treatment devices according to the topography of the terrain, wastewater outlet levels, and excavation depths to be observed.
