INTRODUCTION
The window is a construction element defined first and foremost by the functions it performs or can perform:
as part of the building's external envelope (protection against the elements, but also mechanical protection, particularly when it is required to protect people from falling);
visual communication with the outside world ;
partial physical communication (total in the case of French windows and entrance doors) between inside and outside, and vice versa, as it can be opened;
aesthetics, depending on the materials used and the colors of their surfaces, the format and arrangement of the framing components, and its position in the facade in which it is installed.
The exterior door plays the same role, but with greater emphasis on :
AESTHETICS;
physical communication with the outside world.
