7. Durability

  • The durability criteria for architectural concrete are as follows.

    • Reinforcement wrapping: minimum 25 mm wrapping for all exterior or weather-exposed surfaces and minimum 20 mm wrapping for all other parts.

      An additional 10 mm coating is required for surfaces exposed to aggressive environments.

      For washed or deactivated gravel cladding, the embedding is measured in the hollows, at the deepest point.

    • Mechanical strength: concrete must have a minimum characteristic strength of 30 MPa at 28 days.

    • Water absorption by capillary rise: the coefficient of water absorption by capillary rise must have a value of no more than 3 at 28 days, with no individual result...
