4. Concept of a BFM identity card for a given industrial application
A mechanical characterization test is a mechanical test that provides data used in a dimensioning method or numerical analysis.
This means that a mechanical test can be a mechanical characterization test in the case of a dimensioning method relating to one or more industrial applications, and no longer be so in relation to other industrial applications. One example is the uniaxial tensile test, which may be a characterization test for dimensioning methods relating to structural elements such as beams, but may no longer be a characterization test for dimensioning methods relating to slabs laid on elastic ground.
We therefore propose to introduce another concept, the study test. This test, carried out well before the start of a project, in the laboratory or elsewhere, concerns both the constituents of a concrete (and of course of a BFM) and...
