9. Conclusion

Since self-placing concretes are now standardized and offer numerous advantages in terms of both their socio-economic impact and their improved quality in both fresh and hardened states, they are set to gradually replace traditional concretes in many applications.

Initially, use focused on cast-in-place architectural concretes and factory-precast elements. It is now being extended to common in-situ concrete applications in civil engineering and construction.

The concrete industry must continue to adapt its methods, at both the manufacturing and laying stages, to make the most of the potential offered by these concretes.
