Hanging

The ability of a coating to become one with the substrate to which it is applied.

Addition

A solid or liquid product added to concrete or a binder to modify certain properties in the fresh or hardened state.

A distinction is made between mineral and organic additions.

Adhesion

Physical phenomenon between two materials that generates forces opposing the sliding or lifting of one material relative to the other. We speak of the adhesion of a coating to its substrate.

Adjuvant

Product incorporated in small doses (less than 5% of the weight of cement) into concrete or mortar during mixing, to modify certain properties in the fresh or hardened state.
