5.1 Origins and standards

Fatigue actions, resulting from stress fluctuations, can come from the following sources:
superimposed moving loads, including machine vibrations in fixed structures ;
loads due to exposure conditions, such as wind, swell, etc. ;
acceleration forces in moving structures ;
dynamic response due to resonance effects.

Fatigue loads are generally defined in the various parts of Eurocode 1 :
NF EN 1991-1-4 for wind ;
NF EN 1991-2 for bridges ;
