2. Design costs

Fundamentally, the project activity manipulates objects that are traditionally drawn, and which are in fact designated as drawings (the plan file). Over and above the way in which they are managed, the question arises as to the intrinsic "quality" of this rendering, i.e. its own coherence.

This term needs to be clarified. Without seeking to return to the fundamentals of quality, it seems difficult to avoid questioning this object from the point of view of the proper use of the resources it implicitly transcribes.

Yet this attitude is rare in current practice, which favors an overall approach, reducing design validation to a qualitative rather than quantitative approval. Economic value is deferred to the outcome of the works tender.
