In the past, they were made of wood (poles, stringers, bolts, etc.), and the elements were joined together by ropes, the tightness of which could not be well defined, but for which the skill of the fitters guaranteed safety.
The development of building and civil engineering construction work has led to the replacement of wood by steel and, in some cases, aluminum alloys, enabling precise calculation and rational assembly.
The equipment needed to be versatile, easy to handle, and simple to assemble, dismantle, maintain and store, thus reducing labor time.
Assemblies are made without any on-site welding, using fittings that join two tubular elements, fixed by bolting, interlocking or keying.
