4. Repair and/or reinforcement of a concrete bridge

4.1 Context

• Among the European standards in the NF EN 1504-00 series relating to products and systems for the protection and repair of concrete structures, published in the early 2000s, the following two standards NF EN 1504-9 and NF EN 1504-10 deal with repair and reinforcement methods (see [Doc. C 7 803] ).

• Standard NF EN 1504-9 gives, but without going into details :

  • how to determine the origin of defects and evaluate an existing concrete structure;

  • how to choose the protection or repair method to be used;
