1. Construction and smoke ventilation of open spaces

This technical instruction describes a number of configurations and proposes solutions that are deemed to satisfy the smoke sheltering requirement. Constructions which differ from these configurations, either by their architecture, their dimensions, or the dimensions of their adjacent volumes (for example: ceiling height greater than 4 m), require a special study, based on the models used to draw up this technical instruction, and will be examined by the Central Safety Commission, after consulting the Departmental Safety and Accessibility Advisory Commission (CCDSA).
