2. Analysis of formwork functions

Formwork is a temporary structure essential to the construction of concrete structures. Its main role is to hold the concrete in a precise shape until it acquires sufficient strength to be self-supporting.

In addition to this fundamental objective, it must guarantee a surface texture in line with architectural requirements and ensure sufficient stability to avoid any deformation during the material's setting.

However, its functions are not limited to these aspects. It also helps to protect concrete against impact and external aggression, to limit water loss essential to the proper hydration and hardening of cement, and to provide reliable support for workers and their equipment during pouring and finishing operations.
