6. Staff training and qualifications
The most dangerous aspect of using a MEWP is not the MEWP itself, but insufficient operator training. The user must be fully aware of the device's features, capabilities, limitations and maintenance. To "drive a MEWP", the employer must issue a driving authorization (R. 4323-55, R. 4323-56, R. 4323-57 of the French Labor Code) (figures 38 to 40 ).
