4. Specific rules for asphalt shingle roofing in mountain climates

4.1 According to 1st edition of DTU 40.14

This May 1977 DTU text is the only one with a "Mountain" chapter applicable to roofing structures, i.e. :

  • by an altitude 900 m ;

  • for a normal snow load > 185 daN/m 2 , as defined by current NV 65 rules.

The mountain climate is nevertheless characterized by :

  • daily variations in surface temperatures ;

  • localized or distributed snow and ice loads;
