Grey energy
Quantity of energy required to produce a material or product at different stages: design, extraction, transport and transformation of raw materials, manufacturing, recycling. A building's embodied energy is the sum of the embodied energies of its constituent products.
Usage energy
Primary energy consumed by the building, for heating, cooling, domestic hot water, lighting and all associated circuits and motors (auxiliaries).
Primary energy
