1. General

According to ADEME (Agence de l'environnement et de la maîtrise de l'énergie): 30% of heat escapes from a poorly insulated house through the attic and roof (which is therefore the priority in terms of insulation), 25% through the walls, 10 or 15% through the windows and 7 or 10% through the floors. The thermal insulation project therefore takes into account the various elements of the building: walls, doors and windows, roofing, floors and intermediate floors.

Four things to remember for successful insulation :

  1. check that ventilation is sufficiently efficient: it's important for a home to be properly ventilated, particularly to evacuate humidity. To limit humidity in the home, insulation must always be combined with effective ventilation, such as controlled mechanical ventilation (CMV);
