1. Special features of these capacitors
1.1 General information. Equivalent diagram
Capacitors used in electronics to raise the power factor, start single-phase induction motors, etc., meet the following conditions of use:
quasi-sinusoidal operation at industrial frequencies (50 or 60 Hz);
no significant DC voltage at their terminals.
Finally, their series residual inductance is not specified; its value can be quite high without any significant consequences in the above-mentioned applications.
