2. Armature construction for various machine types

2.1 Introduction

The armature we studied with the simplified motor (in ) is different from that of industrial motors. At present, two different driver arrangements coexist:

  • cylindrical rotor (traditional in laminated sheet metal or bell-shaped) ;

  • discoidal rotor (power limited to 5 kW).

We'll look at these two solutions separately.
