2. Drawing up diagrams and documents used in electrical engineering

A schematic diagram is one of the many documents needed today to document a piece of equipment or an installation: schematic diagrams fall into the broader category of the various kinds of documents used in electrical engineering.

2.1 Schematic presentation

An electrical diagram shows how the various parts of a network, installation, device assembly or appliance are functionally linked and connected to each other. Such a diagram includes :

  • graphic symbols, which are figures, marks or characters used conventionally on a diagram or any other document to represent an object or concept;

  • lines representing electrical connections, mechanical links...
