Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) ; Compatibilité électromagnétique (CEM)

The EMC of any electrical or electronic equipment, must satisfy two compliances, firstly, under a specified level of interference, its operating cycle must be achieved without fault, secondly, its own operating, must don’t produce spurious interferences in its vicinity area.

Normally, amplitude of a plane wave, doesn’t change in any plane perpendicular to the propagation direction. In practice, this condition is only true in a small area around the propagation axis.
