6. Fire standards outside the electrical field

The previous presentation, in the field of standardization, was based successively on the work of the IEC within Committee 89 and then in various other committees dealing with electrical equipment. However, many other bodies, both in France and internationally, deal with similar subjects, and the electrical community needs to keep abreast of what's happening in other spheres with which it often finds itself in close contact.

As described in detail at [6] , two major international standardization bodies coexist: IEC, which deals exclusively with electrical equipment, and ISO (International Organization for Standardization), which covers all subjects except electrical equipment.
