5. Specific standards for various electrical equipment

As mentioned above, each electrical product committee must itself define the fire tests to be applied to the equipment for which it is responsible. It can either use its own methods, particularly when these were created prior to the publication of Committee 89 documents, or, if possible, adopt the standards prepared by the latter. In this case, it is up to him to define :

has the specific test parameters to be applied to its equipment, in other words the severity of each test;

b the conditions for accepting or rejecting the product under test.

In short, for the same test method, application or selection conditions can vary widely from one piece of electrotechnical equipment to another.
