3. Conclusion
In the first part of this article, we present our methodological approach to electromechanical actuator design problems. This approach is based on the combination of a modeling step, which first defines a tool for solving the direct design problem, and optimization methods and algorithms. After defining design problems as inverse problems, we show how they can be reformulated as continuous or mixed optimization problems with constraints. We then summarized the principle of the optimization methods we felt were most relevant to our scientific community.
At the end of this first part of the article, and based on our own experience, we have given orders of magnitude for the resolution of various design problems, depending on the combination of different types of direct models and optimization methods.
