3. Conclusion

Macroscopic energy representation has a number of advantages for engineers wishing to model, analyze and control multi-disciplinary energy systems. Using this approach, a system is studied as a whole (systemic approach) and not in a decomposed way (reductionist approach). The systemic approach also enables us to resolve conflicts of association between sub-systems. As a result of its development, REM requires engineers to think differently, by organizing the causes and effects of a system. This "good" organization guarantees better analysis of energy flows.

One of the real strengths of REM is, without doubt, its ability to systematically deduce an order structure. Several rules have been introduced for this purpose.
