AME (assemblage membrane électrodes); MEA (Membrane Electrode Assembly)
Central component of any fuel cell, consisting of two bipolar plates and an AME.
CL (catalytic layer); CL (Catalyst Layer)
Thin layer on the AME electrodes where the fuel cell's electrochemical reactions take place. The English abbreviation is retained in French.
GC (Bipolar Plate Flow Channels); GC (Gas Channel)
Channels through which gaseous reagents circulate in bipolar plates. Gases penetrate the AME by flowing over its surface through these channels. The English abbreviation is retained in French.
GDL (Gas Diffusion Layer)
Porous layer of the AME that allows gaseous reagents to diffuse into the LC and reaction products to escape. It also serves...
