8. Auxiliaries

Auxiliary functions have been analyzed in [D 5 520] (§ 2.6). Here we analyze the different architectures according to the type of traction.

8.1 Autonomous drive

Powering the auxiliaries via an electrical network has replaced their mechanical drive via shafts and belts. The genset includes a generator dedicated to the auxiliary network. It can be (figure 28 ) either integrated into the main traction generator via a specific winding, or separate and mounted on the same engine shaft....
