3. Distribution architecture
3.1 Possible energy sources
Depending on the site, and often on the same site, there are three possible sources:
supply from a public distribution network ;
supplied by a stand-alone power station or a local emergency power unit ;
uninterruptible power supply via charger/battery/inverter combinations.
We'll look at them in turn.
