8. Generation and cogeneration from biomass or waste
Instead of fossil fuels, we can burn fuels from cultivated or uncultivated biomass –– or waste to produce heat, then steam and finally electricity. However, to increase efficiency, cogeneration systems are increasingly being developed, in which the heat, usually lost, is recovered for a variety of applications (space heating, industrial needs, agriculture, etc.). It is above all the feed-in tariffs for cogenerated electricity that have enabled these energy sources to take off, and they are now highly developed in many countries
