2. Counting data processing

How data is used depends essentially on the contractual arrangements between customers and the various operators who contribute to the customer's electricity supply.

There are at least two such players:

  • the electricity supplier, selling the energy itself ;

  • the network operator responsible for transporting this energy from its place of production to its place of consumption.

For large customers, a 3rd player can be identified: the Balance Responsible Entity, whose role is specified in the treaties setting out how the electricity market operates.

Their contracts (at least for the first 2) are generally defined on similar bases, integrating a subscribed kW price and a consumed kWh price, possibly characterized by an hourly or...
