Routing (tariffs)

Regulated tariffs set by public authorities on the recommendation of an independent commission, to finance the fixed and variable costs of electricity and gas transmission and distribution networks. European directives require that access to these networks be free and non-discriminatory for all users (suppliers and consumers).

ARENH (regulated access to historical nuclear energy)

Since 2011, the incumbent operator EDF has been legally obliged to sell part of its nuclear output (100 TWh out of an initial total of around 400 TWh) at a regulated price (€42/MWh) based on the cost of nuclear power, rather than the wholesale market price, to any of its competitors who so wish.
