Comparison of electricity networks in France and Germany

By way of comparison, Germany has 890 distribution system operators (DSOs), which vary widely in size, and four transmission networks. The distribution of voltage levels between transmission and distribution in Germany and France is also different, although very similar, as shown in figure 1 (source: M. Wagenhaüser, OFATE 2019).
