7. Conclusion
The aim of this publication was to present the specialized field of electromagnetic transient simulation in power systems. The presentation focused on numerical methods for assembling, formulating and solving the equations of a power system of arbitrary topology. The targeted field constitutes an important research topic in the scientific literature. This paper focuses on proven methods used in industrial-grade simulation software.
A complete transient simulation algorithm must include computational means for steady-state prediction in addition to time-domain simulation algorithms.
