5. Application examples

The examples concern the study of an electromagnetic actuator and a magnetoforming system respectively. These devices are powered by capacitor discharge.

5.1 Electromagnetic actuators

Examples of actuators include :

  • the electromagnetic hammer used for pile driving;

  • the jackhammer ;

  • the hammer-driver used for taking samples at sea;

  • the drilling rig for jacking and digging.
